Ever so fittingly, just as we were preparing to announce my upcoming voice programming, I was asked the cardinal question, the end-all-be-all:
Why am I so passionate about the voice? Why is the voice key to artistic expression?
I said it was because the voice is absolutely essential for an actor.
After all, it’s a tool, a medium, a platform, a signifier, a moment’s whim, and a statement’s color. In a sense, acting itself “begins and ends” with a voice.
Yet so many individuals with whom I work now have proven that our voice reaches far beyond the acting profession. Take that timeless expression: “I have a voice,” or “I found my voice.”
What do those words express? What do they prove or mean for someone who “voices” them?
I know on a profoundly personal level that those words are some of the most beautiful statements I’ve heard my clients speak, express, and share.
The voice can release pain, express truth, manifest dreams, and heal relationships. It also opens the body with vibration, and therefore provides a fundamental step for manifestation, evolution, and realization.
Owning your own voice is the most practically spiritual practice there is.
You bring your innermost thoughts and feelings into the world, and in so doing, you actually help create with another person, you help manifest and share and cultivate a more empowered world.
This spring & summer’s voice programming is a culmination of a life’s work, a philosophy I’ve applied and perfected, a motivational experience I’ve seen work time and time again to help the artist feel confident, vulnerable, creative, and empowered to be themselves while also creating the person they’ve always wanted to be.
It’s a life’s work about making a life work, making all our lives work the way we feel they should.
Let’s begin. Let’s find a voice. Let’s find our voice.
